Hyderabad: Canadian passenger misery from Hyderabad, which was stranded in Abu Dhabi continued because they had been tested positive for Covid-19 on arrival hours before the flight connects – and could not travel next to Toronto.
The passengers have written to the Etihad Authority to shift them into separate hotel rooms for isolation, instead of six-person-in-room facilities.
They are also ready to pay better facilities.
One passenger, Gollapudwal, an operating manager for Amazon, also complained that there were no internet facilities right in that place.
He said while he wanted to continue his work, but could not do it because of internet connectivity problems.
“How long can we continue in a difficult situation?” Ujwal asked.
On Saturday, he was told that they had to be in Abu Dhabi until January 28.
“Authorities say they will leave me at the airport.
But there is no information about providing personal quarantine facilities,” he said.
While TI reached the airline representatives to find out how the airline called various problems raised by passengers stranded, they failed to respond to letters or calls.
The passengers said in a room with positively tested people to covid with symptoms will cause danger because they have no covid symptoms.
“I will share your feedback from quarantine facilities for review,” is a passenger response with Etihad’s help.
The passengers have also appealed to the Minister of External Affairs Union Jaishankar and the Minister of State for the external matters of Meenakshi Lekhi to ask for help.
“We tried to contact the embassy many times.
We will pass between departments,” said Ujwal.
