CHENNAI: Fresh Covid-19 cases in Tamil Nadu came down to 17,321 on Wednesday.
The state reported 405 deaths.
The case tally reached 22.9 lakh while the death toll rose to 28,170.
After more than 31,000 discharges, the state had 2.04 lakh people in the active cases registry.
Coimbatore reported 2,319 cases followed by Erode (1,405) and Chennai (1,345).
All other districts reported less than 1,000 cases.
Sivaganga reported 117 cases, the lowest.
Barring Theni, Pudukottai and Sivaganga, all other districts reported at least one death each.
Seventeen of them had deaths in two digits.
Coimbatore reported 62 deaths.
Chennai reported 52 deaths while Chengalpet reported 29 deaths.
As many as 1.7 lakh people underwent RT-PCR test in the last 24 hours.
