Covid: Inoculation Dosage Preventive Action Begins in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Drive for inoculation of prevention doses for health workers, frontline workers and senior citizens with comorbidity begins in the state of Monday.
Amid the increase in Covid cases in the state, beneficiaries come in large quantities to get their Jab in their closest vaccination centers.
People were seen standing between several vaccine sites in Bhubaneswar to take a dose of booster.
Arrangements are made in the State Assembly to vaccinate members of the assembly who meet the requirements and staff.
“When the third wave of Covid-19 has begun, the state government has taken the steps needed to provide a dose of booster to people over 60 years with comorbidity and beneficiaries who meet other requirements.

These third doses will provide protection from Covid-19, “said Surya Narayan Patro Surya State Speaker after taking a preventive dose.
About 17.52 Lakh people will be given a dose of booster in the state.
More than 5.25 Lakh recipients will get a preventive dose at the end of this month.
Inoculation is underway at 3,616 vaccination centers throughout the country including 1340 sites for young masses (aged between 15-18 years).
Bijay Kumar Panigrahi, Nodal State Officer for Immunization and Director of Family Welfare, said the people who have the right to receive a dose of preventive measures do not need to register their names again.
“Their names have been registered when taking the first dose.
They can take an online appointment through a co-win portal or visit the vaccine centers to take the third dose in place,” he added.
He said they had increased a capacity of 20 percent of vaccination centers so that beneficiaries could take Covid shots on any vaccine site.
“The first day of drive vaccination runs smoothly.
There are no main side effects reported so far,” Panigrahi said.
Naveen Mohapatra, a pharmacist in the Sub-Division of the Chatrapur Hospital in the Ganjam district, said he did not feel pain when taking a dose of prevention.
“I didn’t get a bad event after immunization (AEFI).
I asked someone else to immediately receive this prevention dose.
When we work in hospitals, the booster dose is needed to get protection from Covid-19,” he added.
