Mumbai: State and Mumbai report swimming in cases and deaths on Thursday, but active cases continue to creep.
The country reported 3,595 cases and 45 deaths, took the cumulative calculation to 65.1 cases of lakh and fatality of 1.4 lakh.
Active cases jumped more than 300 to 49,342 on Thursday, including 101 in Mumbai.
Cases in the city rose 446, compared with 515 on Wednesday, and only two deaths were recorded.
“We did 44,649 tests in Mumbai and 446 tested positive.
While the number of everyday cases rises down, the pace of peponyitives below 1% and the mortality rate is also low,” said the additional Commissioner BMC Suresh Kakani, added that the civic health machine would continue to continue .
“We have beds, oxygen support, and drugs to overcome increases,” he added.
At present, the overall case calculation in Mumbai is 7.4 lakh and toll reaches 16,039.
State government officials said the decline in testing because the celebration season was the reason for worry and the district had been asked to increase testing.
There are nearly 17 districts that have less than 100 active cases, and testing in these districts has dropped significantly.
“Once worshipers start returning to cities, they must be played for symptoms and tested if needed,” said an official, referring to the people who returned after the Ganpati Festival.
