Covid mortality rates rose, most of death due to comorbidity

Hubballi: The mortality rate is rising in the third wave of Covid-19 pandemic in the Dharwad district.
The district has reported 20 deaths so far in February while in January the number of deaths is eight.
Among death, there are many patients with comorbidity such as diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, cancer, or not fully vaccinated, said source.
In December, when the third wave had not started, the district reported 208 new cases, and three deaths.
This has asked questions about why the number of deaths increases, when the case decreases.
According to sources at KimS Hospital, the hospital designated for Covid treatment, the reported death is not pure because of Covid, but because of comorbidity, other serious health conditions, or severe injuries to those who test positive Covid-19.
Deputy Commissioner Nitesh Patil said that compared to the death rate in other parts of Karnataka, the number of deaths in the Dharwad district was very lacking.
“The numbers reflect more because the data of the Faatality case in January last week was uploaded now,” he said.
“Most of these deaths are not pure because of Covid but mixed with comorbidity.
Even patients with cancer and other serious diseases come to hospitals at their last moments and they found positive Covid.
Even those who underwent a big operation were tested for Covid.
Some deaths It cannot be prevented when patients who are in the last stage of their lives have also been tested positively, “he said.
DR Director of Kims Dr.
Ramalingappa Intercases said most cases were covid deaths that were unexpected because most of these patients had other problems such as head injury, cancer and underlying diseases and those who would die otherwise.
“Only four to five patients died specifically because of Covid.
No need to panic this time, fatal cases are hardly in one digit,” he added.
