Chatra: Jageshwar Paswan fifty-five years old, who left his house with anger in his youth, had returned to his home village Tulbul under Kanhacatti block in the Chatra District after 35 years, only to find the last ritus and his parents died.
His younger sister also moved to another village after marriage.
When he returned home a few days ago, Jageshwar, now a man who is married to a son and daughter, found himself a stranger in his own village and home.
His property was treated by his cousin and gladly gave him back to him after he identified himself.
Given his young period, Jageshwar said he left home as a 20-year-old child in 1986 after he was scolded by his parents.
He said, “After leaving home, I went to Delhi and began working with a brick kiln there.
The Kiln owner made me work as a laborered worker for five years.
Then, I married my wife, Reena, who also worked there.
After Kiln is closed, we started working in the roadside Dhaba in Delhi.
“Jageshwar said he led a happy life but began to face financial problems after the national locking was enforced last year.
“I read in the newspaper that migrant workers returned to their original places after they could not find another job.
I also decided to return to Tulbul in hopes of meeting my parents and sisters and looking for work,” Jageshwar said.
His neighbors were surprised to see Jageshwar, his wife Reena, son of Ravi Paswan and Putri Radha Kumari when they arrived in the village on Saturday, after he identified him, they were then taken to his parents’ house.
His cousin said they were happy to see them after giving up all hope for a long time.
His cousin also said that considering Jageshwar was dead, they had committed his last ritual with efigsi.
About why he did not return for years, Jageshwar said: “It was my decision to leave the village in my youth, but I feel sad to know that my parents are dead.
I will not leave the village again and will continue to stay here.
What What I lost will not return, but I can compensate for it by staying here with my family.
