Mumbai: After a day of the lowest record, Covid state counting and death surged on Tuesday.
In Mumbai, cases and death remained low, but the city again got a doubtful rating had the highest active case in the state after Pune and Thane held the slot for months.
On Tuesday, Mumbai added 225 cases, the lowest in 70 days.
Death continues to be under five (3) for the fourth day in a row.
The active case for the country and the city fell to 15,485 and 4,250, which is likely to be the lowest in almost one and a half years.
A state report said Mumbai contributed almost 29% of them, followed by Pune (20.6%) and Ahmednagar (12%).
The state registered 1,078 new cases after the number fell to 809 the previous day.
The fatality count jumped to 48 on Tuesday from 10 on Monday, which state officials were associated with lag in reporting.
Of the 48 deaths, 17 came from the Mumbai metropolitan area and 16 of the Pune division.
Positive cases mainly come from MMR (434), Pune circle (336) and Nashik (196).
Mumbai saw one of the lowest addition to vaccination on Tuesday with only 32,739 people out to take Jab.
