Mumbai: The country reported the increase in Covid cases for the third consecutive day on Thursday, but the city, after recording more than 500 cases on Wednesday, registered (457) but the cases remained above 400.
Interestingly, the number of cases.
In the city down even though testing is higher.
The BMC Covid update says 48,000-plus tests are carried out for the second day in a row in run-up to the ganpati festival.
The state added 4,219 cases and 55 deaths, taking a total caseload to 64.9 lakh and fatality to 1.4 lakh.
According to the Ministry of Health’s update, the cumulative cases in the country dipped 15,066 and the total release fell 15,793 due to reconciliation.
Duplicate entries are removed which causes a decrease in numbers.
Active cases in the state crossed a sign of 50,000 but fell in Mumbai to 4,298.
Dr.
Shashank Joshi, a member of the Covid Negara Task Force, said the Covid Graph of the city is currently stable and the level of minister of testing is around 1%.
“We continue to open firmally and there is a small increase in the number of cases,” he said.
Daily numbers tend to remain low for the next few days because the ganpati festival begins.
“Very few people want to be tested themselves for Covid at least for the next two to three days.
Many will get out of town too,” said a BMC senior doctor.
There may be an increase in cases on Tuesday or Wednesday because people who delay testing will be tested.
“But the rise will not be sharp,” said the doctor.
CM Uddhav Thackeray has appealed to the public to follow all Covid restrictions in an effort to reduce crowding to maintain the spread of infection during the examination.
“Cases in many districts where the festival is celebrated in a big way will surely see up.
The only way to ensure that the increase does not flood health infrastructure is to follow restrictions,” said an official from the Ministry of Health.
