Covid number Kerala Save 4 k’Taka border limit on the edge

Bengaluru: With Kerala still report a large number of Covid-19 cases every day, Karnataka maintains strict vigilance in the Border District of Dakshina Kannada, MySuru, Chamarajanagar and Kodagu.
Although the center has asked to declare not demanding the RT-PCR test for travelers between countries that are fully vaccinated, Karnataka survives with a mandatory test for people who come from Kerala.
Kerala has added more than 5.5 lakh cases in August at the level of 20,575 cases a day, the second highest infection accounting in this country.
“We did it (required test certificate) based on the recommendation of the Covid-19 technical advisory committee, which felt that we still need to be careful,” said KV Trilok Chandra Health Commissioner to Stoi.
Virological members and Committee Dr.
V Ravi said earlier that most new cases in Karnataka were abundant from neighboring countries, suggesting improved testing in the border district.
“Now even vaccination push must occur in these districts, while we continue to prioritize Bengaluru,” he said.
Dakshina Kannada District Administration, MySuru, Chamarajanagar and Kodagu also continued to be in high warnings, monitoring train stations, bus stands, and other entry points.
Dakshina Kannada, who was worst affected by four districts, had 17 checkpoints to serve tourists from Kerala.
This month, the number of cases in four districts has seen a cumulative increase of around 4 percent to touch 3.5 lakh compared to the total 3.3 lakh infection on July 31.
The highest increase was in Dakshina Kannada, which, August 27, has more than 1 lakh case, up 8.8 percent from July 31.
Kodagu has registered a 6 percent surge, while Mysuru, who has the highest overall case among the four districts, sees a 1.6 percent increase from July.
Some stoi experts contacted were from the view that while it was important for people to re-do things detained during the second wave, there should be no self-satisfaction until the state covers the target population with a vaccine.
“Given that most Bengaluru has been borne, the focus will turn to other priority districts, and we hope to discuss them all,” Chandra said.
