Covid orphans 12 Children in Aurangabad, 231 Dropped one parent

AURANGABAD: The pandemic has caused irreparable loss for as much as 12 children under age 18 years at the Aurangabad district because they’ve lost both parents into Covid-19. The district also has yet another 231 kids who have lost their father or mother into Covid-19. The taskforce shaped for the advantage of Covid-affected kids has come out using such figures. The amount is predicted to rise since the practice of compilation of information remains on. Aurangabad district child and women development officer Harsha Deshmukh on Tuesday reported that the information is being accumulated from the taskforce with assistance from various government authorities. “Different self-governing bodies and private colleges are contacted to follow such kids. The database is going to soon be filed to the state authorities for necessary actions,” she explained. Deshmukh said the state administration is forecast to announce rehabilitation and relief measures for these children. “There’s a necessity to provide instant relief to such kids and chalk out welfare measures for their own rehabilitation. To start with, the government has reached out to those kids throughout the taskforce and is forecast to announce a slew of steps for these,” she explained. The district government has also established helpline amounts 1098, 7400015518, 8308992222, 9370003517 to get Covid-hit kids. Anuradha Sahasrabudhe, the creator of Dnyana Devi Pune ChildLine, said that the taskforce must join hands with NGOs. “These kids are confronting a high level of injury. The government needs to take care of these kinds of children case-by-case with assistance of NGOs to be able to make sure their psychological wellbeing and security of unique rights,” she explained, adding the taskforce’s future road map has to be declared at the first.
