Nagpur: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) will provide legal assistance to Covid orphans to condemn land records from their parents’ traits in their names as legal heirs.
DLSA will also help orphans and children, one of the parents died in a pandemic, in fulfilling the documentation work to utilize the scheme of government beneficiaries.
Secretary of DLSA Abhijeet Desthmukh said the legal volunteers of the law (PLV) had been involved in helping Piovid’s orphans to identify and ensure their properties, bank accounts, fixed deposits, policies and other investments made by their parents and transferred them to them as Legal heirs.

“The PLV will also make assistance in filling out forms and completing other legal formalities for Covid orphans so that they can take advantage of the benefits and also those who can move and not moved guarded from others who observe them because of their vulnerability,” Dishmukh said.
In a meeting held last week, Vimala R collector has instructed DLSA to advance to help legally 51 Covid orphans to take advantage of the benefits announced by the government for these helpless children.
He also stated the keenness to write a letter to sub-registration offices to remain vigilant about the properties of Covid orphans who should not lose their rights by others who seize their property that can be moved and immovable.
The collector also expressed his intention to make the intention to appeal the schools to cut their costs for children like that.
Vimala said he would soon write to sub-registrar and school offices this week to ensure help for such children.
“Covid orphans are vulnerable as victims of fraud with their properties and therefore the sub-registrant office will be asked to remain vigilant when transferring their property,” he added, adding private schools to be submitted to consider their tuition fees.
Complete the meeting, Vimala has also instructed the Women and Child Development Department to complete the visit of children’s homes that have lost one of their parents in Covid and submitted social audit reports so that their names can be included as beneficiaries for the government scheme.
Although the assistance of the state government announced from the RS5 Lakh can be disbursed by orphans at the age of 21 years, interest in deposits can still be immediately.
“We have opened a Pivid Orphanage Bank account and is now waiting for the government to deposit the amount in it,” the collector said.
The government also plans to include children, who have one of their parents in Covid, in the ‘balsangopan’ scheme where they will get RS1,100 every month.
This scheme is now for all orphans.
About 1,370 children have been identified by the Department of Women and the development of districts as people who have lost one of their parents.
Amitesh Kumar said the police would ensure there was no exploitation or trade orphaned or withdrawn into criminal activities.
