Chennai: The Chennai Book Fair, a tent event that attracts many people, has been postponed this year because of the third wave of Covid-19, leaving high and dry publishers.
Last year, this event was held in February, but the return was bad.
Organized by the Association of Publishers and South Indian Publishers (Bapasi), the annual event will mark the 45th edition of this year and will be inaugurated by the Chief of the Constitutional Court of the Constitutional Court Stalin, but a sudden burst in the Covid-19 case has caused the future ambiguity of this year’s event.
“We have spent around Rs 80 lakh in preparation and ready when the third wave struck.
We hope to conduct an exhibition in February or March because the publisher has spent money by issuing a new title and new writer for the reader,” said K Murugan, Secretary, Bapasi .

Those from the Diaspora who visited the state during the Margazhi season were used to extend their stay to Pongal to visit the book exhibition, the publisher said.
