Covid Patient Count Stable in Kolkata

Kolkata: The number of tickets for covid-19 in city hospitals remains stable for the past two to three months.
Now, many of these hospitals see a significant decline in the number of patients who need treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
In fact, several hospitals on Wednesday did not have a positive positive patient in their covid icus.
Health care experts say this is a positive sign and quote the coverage of vaccination and herd of herd of immunity as the two main reasons.
“Vaccination must have played a large role together with hybrid immunity in reducing the risk of ICU revenues,” said IPGMER Associate Professor of a specialist of Yogiraj Ray’s infectious disease.
Of the 28 odd Covid patients admit at Peerless Hospital, only three are currently in intensive care.
At daily average, the hospital gets two to three covid reception.
But the more dizzy the patient without double.
“We get five to six asymptomatic patients every day.
They are detected because they need hospital admission for other diseases or surgical procedures.
So this again stipulates that the severity of the disease has fallen.
Vaccination and the development of his flock is the reason,” said CEO of Peerless Hospital Sudipta partner.
CMRI Hospital does not have one patient in Covid ICU on Wednesday.
“We currently have 24 covid patients, fortunately there is nothing in critical care.
But we keep all our Covid facilities updated after the Omicron threat,” said Simmardeep Gill, CEO of the Birla CK Hospital.
“The severity of this disease has dropped with an increase in the number of people who were vaccinated.
Two months ago, a little less than 50% of Covid patients claimed to require treatment of critical care,” said Rupali Basu, MD & CEO of the Woodlands Multispeciality Hospital.
.
On Wednesday, hospitals in Alipore have 14 covid patients, two of them in the ICU.
“At present, we have two to three covid acceptance.
The count remains constant for weeks now,” said R Venkatesh, regional director (east) Narayana health.
However, hospitals are among the few who have a slightly higher amount of ICU patients with 11 of the total 21 are under critical care.
Tertiary care hospitals such as the Bangur hospital also have around 40% of patients under intensive care.
Of the 20 covid patients in Fortis Hospital, five were in the ICU.
Medica has 10 of 27 patients in the ICU.
“The drastic decline in the number of covid patients who require intensive care is positive,” said Medica Alok Roy’s Hospital Chairman.
However, doctors have warned against the decline of guards, especially when Omicron is around.
“While Omicron is known as a strain that is lighter because of its higher transmission, we may get many infected people.
Even if it causes a lighter disease, because the mere amount of a particular percentage will require intensive acceptance,” add Roy.
