Mumbai: While the number of Covid-19 cases continues to fall for the third consecutive day in Mumbai, the daily toll goes up to two digits – 11 – after five months.
On Saturday, 10,661 cases were registered in Mumbai by opposing 11,317 on Friday.
On Sunday, the city tends to cross the 10-lakh sign for Covid cases since the pandemic began in March 2020.
Like Mumbai, Maharashtra also witnessed a marginal decline in the case, with 42,462 registered against 43,211 days earlier.
Daily victims in Maharashtra rose to 23 of 19 on Friday.
However, a comparison of Sunday’s rise on Sunday in Mumbai and Maharashtra told a different story.
While Mumbai saw 1,02,409 cases in a week between January 2 and January 8, Kaseeload fell to 96,869 between 9 and January 15 and January 15.
“The peak has been achieved in Mumbai,” said the member of the Covid Task Force of the State Government Dr.
Shashank Joshi.
“The peak might be lost.
We witnessed the beginning of the current decline.
However, we must see the situation at least a week before making an announcement, “said BMC Health Officer Dr.
Mangala Gomare.
He added that 20,000 cases plus were seen in the first week of January and the daily calculation fell in the second week.
Instead, Maharashtra witnessed an increasing trend.
Talin for 9-15 January was 2.91,084 as against 1,87,665 weeks earlier.
Cases in Pune, Nagpur and other districts from the country have begun to increase in the second week of January.
Not surprisingly, the number of active cases in Mumbai (73,518) has begun to drop while in Maharashtra (2,64,441) still increasing.
Experts say that the peak of Omicron will be specific to geography, with various cities tend to experience a different peak.
In Mumbai, supplemental municipal commissioner Suresh Kakani said that cases tended to fall below 10,000 in the coming week.
“Cases must immediately drop to four digits.
Recovery from Omicron is very fast and, during a visit to the Nair Hospital (near the Central Station of Mumbai) on Saturday, most of the patients say that they are in the minimum drug for the management of their fever .
Even antivirus has been needed very economically, “he said.
However, many doctors worried about increasing toll in Mumbai.” We registered one or two deaths in Mumbai in recent months.
But in the last week, the number of deaths has increased to 7 or more, “said a doctor from the Nair Hospital.
Before Saturday, last time Mumbai saw 10 deaths on August 1 and 13 on July 29.
During waves, deaths usually increase a week or two weeks after peak.
Therefore, in delta waves, the peak of 10,000 plus cases was reached in April 2021 while death peaked in May.
“We must be vigilant about the number of victims in the coming week,” said Doctor Nair.
