Puducherry: Two days after reporting less than 200 fresh Covid cases, Union Puducherry region reported 264 fresh Covid-19 cases on Wednesday.
A total of 254 patients recovered took the total number of active cases to 2,354 on Wednesday.
From them, 370 patients underwent treatment at the hospital while 1,984 patients were under isolation and home care.
Puducherry headquarters reported maximum new cases with 207 followed by Karaikan (40), Mahe (15) and Yanam (2).
Puducherry head office has a maximum active case with 1,878 followed by Karaikan (318), Mahe (92) and Yanam (66).
A 70-year-old man from Puducherry died because the infection took the death toll to 1,749.
Puducherry headquarters have maximum death with 1,396 followed by Karaikan (218), Yanam (102) and Mahe (33).
Infection mortality rates reach 1.5%.
This area has so far reported 1.17 cases of lakh which 1.13 patients recovered the recovery rate of 96.5%.
The sample front level (8,098) tested on Wednesday reached 3.26%.
The health care authority has so far tested 13.08 lakh swab samples where 11.23 lakh samples are negatively returned.
They have so far gave a vaccine to 4.93 lakh people including those who got the second dose.
