Varanasi: The toddler infant girl, that tested positive on May 26 only after arrival, turned negative about May 28.
Astonishingly, the infant’s dad claimed that she had been discharged from the hospital prior to her evaluation report was obtained.
On the other hand, the hospital police explained that it was a borderline situation and both mom and infant were healthy, therefore they had been discharged.
“We’re amazed why infant was discharged well ahead of the introduction of the test record,” wondered Sunil Kumar (name changed), the father of their newborn baby.
But, both mom and baby are doing well, ” he added.
The mom, who had been admitted to the Sir Sunderlal Hospital in Banaras Hindu University, tested negative for Covid-19 prior to giving birth to the infant in an caesarean delivery on Wednesday.
Sunil stated the nursing team just revealed the infant, and afterwards advised that she tested positive for Covid-19.
Medical Superintendent Prof KK Gupta stated that RT-PCR evaluation method has its own restriction, therefore the samples had been shipped to laboratory for Covid evaluation .
From the next reports of RT-PCR, both tested negative.
“RT-PCR’s sensitivity is 70 percent that means that there are 30% likelihood of false outcome.
In these situations replicate evaluations are conducted to validate disease.
The identical procedure was followed in this instance,” stated the MS.
