Pune: A member of Pune Zilla Parishad belongs to the ruler of Shiv Sena and five others was ordered for allegedly violating Covid-19 norms during the function of marriage in Junnar Tehsil, police said on Monday.
Marriage of members of Zilla Parishad, Putra Devram Lande took place on August 28 on a local page and was attended by more than 1,800 people when permission was taken with only 200 in the middle of the Coronavirus Pandemic, said the Junnar Vikas Jadhav police station inspector.
“Lande, wedding owners and the other four have been booked for violations of Norma Covid-19 below Section 188 (disobedience to order correctly announced by civil servants), 269 (negligent actions tend to spread disease infections for life) and 270 (Law Invite ferocity) IPC.
The wedding venue has been sealed, “he said.
Lande, who was also ordered with one more person to play music through a DJ system until 11:30 at a wedding, said he had asked people not to come to the wedding but they appeared “because of love for me”.
