Chandigarh: Citing the current request from 2 doses of the Lakh Covid vaccine for the second dose, the chairman of the Minister of Punjab Amarinder Singh on Tuesday demanded 40 more doses from the center on the basis of qualifying the requirements to analyzed the eligible population.
The country expects 2.46 lakh vaccines to arrive on Monday but the main minister, during the virtual meeting of Covid reviews, noted that the vaccine remained in a short supply, after running out of covishield vaccines and going with a covaxin dose only on Monday.
Punjab has vaccinated more than 90 lakh people who qualified (nearly 37% of the qualified population) and have used stock without waste, said the minister’s chairman.
While the dose 1 has been given to 75 people lakh, 15 lakh also has a second dose.
This center needs to arrange immediate delivery to the country to meet the shortcomings and allow inoculation all who need the second dose, while continuing with vaccination of other people who meet the requirements, Amarinder said.
Shows that the dosage supplied to a private hospital wasted in vain because people preferred to go to the government hospital for free inoculation, Hussan Lal’s health secretary told the meeting that the state had sought the transfer of shares from a private hospital but had not received a response So far from the center.
