Covid: Rajasthan’s first sero surveillance comes

Jaipur: For the first time, the state government will conduct sero surveillance on a large scale to find out how much of the population has developed antibodies against Covid at the time of the vaccine dose of more than 6 crores have been given.
In July, the ICMR survey had released a number stating that 76% of the population in the state had antibodies against Covid.
The ICMR has taken samples from three districts.
But, now the state government has decided to expand SERO supervision in 14 sub-districts from the country.
Health Minister Raghu Sharma said, “Sero surveillance will be carried out in 14 districts to find out how many residents have antibodies against Covid.” The Ministry of Health has directed the Sawai Man Singh Medical College to prepare for modalities to do sero-surveillance.
A health department official said, “SMS Medical College will prepare guidelines for sero-surveillance.
The training will also be submitted to those who will do that.
Also, guidelines from SMS Medical College will provide a road map for sero-surveillance because it will guide where the sample will be taken, which will be taken samples for more accurate results.
” Sero surveillance also becomes important because more than 6 crore vaccine doses have been given.
Because Sero supervision was carried out by the ICMR indicating that antibodies developed were due to the second wave of Covid and also due to vaccination, the proposed sero supervision would provide an illustration of how vaccination had developed antibodies between people.
The center, in July, has suggested a state to conduct sero-specific surveys in consultation with ICMR to produce district level data in the sero-prevalence as a finding will guide the formulation of local public health responses to Covid management.
It was stated by the Minister of Health Union for the state government that the study following the standard protocol and the findings of the study could then be utilized rapidly by their respective countries to guide the objective, transparent and evidence-based public health response to Covid.
Wearing a mask, said Cmahead Diwali, Minister of Ashok Gehlot appealed to the public to remain vigilant in Covid.
“I want to remind another Corona case that is developing in several countries.
In India, Covid cases have increased compared to previous numbers.
Don’t forget to follow the Covid protocol during the festival celebration.
” He appealed to the public to wear a mask, maintain social distance and get two doses of vaccines.
