Kokkata: Restrictions because Covid-19 in West Bengal has been extended until August 30 with the relaxation of the Chairman of the Minister of Mamata Banerjee announced on Thursday that the curfew where strict restrictions will be reduced.
“The Covid situation in West Bengal is quite good but the danger of the third wave is still hiding.
This is one reason we did not allow local trains,” Banerjee said, overcoming a press conference.
“So, we have decided to extend Covid restrictions that are ongoing for 15 days until August 30,” he added.
Restrictions, first dropped on May 16 amid the second wave of pandemic and extended periodically, will end on August 15.
“We have decided some relaxation – such as full locking at night will now be 11 nights.
PM until 5am, not at 9pm to 5 in the morning,” he said.
Banerjee said the country did not get the required vaccine dose.
“If we get a vaccine, we can at least ensure a vaccine dose for the rural population and then we can leave the local train,” he said.
To parse the prison, Banerjee announced that the government would release 73 inmates of life.
