Kolkata: Analysis of fresh covid cases recorded in the last 10 days shows that South Kolkata has reported a larger positive number – Karaya and Beckbagan parts along with the added field of Tollygunge, Jadavpur, Mukundapur and Patuli reported most cases in the city compared to Kolkata North.
According to Kolkata Municipal Corporation and the source of Kolkata police, several wards in the south reported seven to nine cases every day.

About seven cases have been reported from Ward 101, while six each of the 92 and 93 wards, all lying close to Mukundapur, Dhakuria, Garfa and Jodhpur Park.
“We have a reason to worry about a little burst in Covid since these areas – limited under three boroughs – have reported many cases even in the first and second waves.
We maintain strict vigilance and take all kinds of steps to prevent infection from spreading to the area bigger, “said KMC Health Department official.

None of the 144 KMC wards are the average daily number of more than nine new cases per day.
In the second wave, the three borough (10-12) had even witnessed 658 cases on one day during May-June.
“We need to add more swab collections because we have decided to increase Covid testing,” said a civilian official.
“We need to improve our covid testing process so that large amounts of citizens can take advantage of the opportunity to be tested for Covid-19,” said members of the KMC Atin Ghosh administrator.
Police Kolkata said it has increased the number of nights nights in the entire city with an emphasis on South Bypass and Em.
Police said the last three days had seen more than 300 violations.
The police have also decided to concentrate on the market in these fields where they will hold a special campaign.
Sixteen markets including Behala, Simulta, Behala Chowrasta, Thakurpur, Haridevpur, Jadavpur, Bansdroni, Garia, Baghajatin, Bijoyh, Sree Colony and Pallisree were under the supervision of the police.
