Bhubaneswar: Rejecting public participation for Puja Durga this year was held between 11 and 15 October, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Thursday issued a set of guidelines for celebrations in the middle of the ongoing pandemic.
Despite public protests, BMC instructed the height of the idol to less than four feet.

The Civic body said the committee or committee could commit the Puja in the mandap by following all Covid-19 norms after obtaining permission from officers adjusted by the Police Commissioner.
It adds that the mandap must be well closed on three sides to prevent public participation, while one side will remain open to enter and exit the priest and organizers.
Guidelines say, at any time, no more than seven people, including priests / organizers / support staff, will be permitted in mandaps and people inside Mandaps will follow the appropriate behavior of Covid.
Anyone, who is actively involved in Puja’s obedience must be fully vaccinated.
BMC also said the organizers could not hold this year’s immersion procession and follow rituals in artificial ponds made by BMC with a maximum participation of 10 people.
People who are fully vaccinated can take part in the soaking process, no religious procession, musical programs or entertainment will be permitted during the festival.
