PUDUCHERRY: All schools that do offline classes for students from grade 1 to 9 will remain closed from Monday in the Union region due to the increasing number of Covid-19 cases.
Minister of Home and Education A Namassivayam said in the release that online class will be continued for grade 1 to 9 students because holidays have been stated for these classes to further orders.
Director of School Education P T Rudra Goud said all schools including institutions managed personally and the government will remain closed considering ‘a surge in everyday case,’ until further orders.
A spokesman for the Ministry of Health said PTI that the department has recommended to the government to declare holidays for schools that conduct classes for grade 1 to 9 students considering the trend of new cases that are worrying.
The government reopened the school for grade 1 to 9 on December 4 with a pandemic situation showing signs of reduction.
But since the last few days the new case increased and touched 444 cases for the last 24 hours ending 10:00 week.
The government has been distributed with the physical behavior of the 25th National Youth Festival and has announced that it will be inaugurated on January 12 by the Prime Minister through virtual mode from Delhi on January 12.
