Covid-shy officials are alert to crowded processes

Vadodara: With Covid-19 guidelines for throwing procession taken to bring idol ganapati to a pandal on Thursday, officials and selected functionaries have pressed the panic trigger.
A meeting was held on Friday night to discuss arrangements for ganapati celebrations.
Administration has been asked to involve mandal ganapati again to ensure that guidelines are applied strictly and followed.
“We will appeal to people to immerse idols that are installed at home in their own home.
Four artificial pools will also be there to ensure the idol does not gather in one place.
Personal organizers also make arrangements for sedambewan in a large pool,” said Mayor Keyur Rokadiya.
Rokadiya said that city police would talk to the owner of the DJ and Mandal System Ganapati in the coming days asking them to ensure that the norm was followed.
A similar meeting of the peace committee will also be held.
