New Delhi: The Ministry of External Affairs said that with the Covid-19 situation in India far increased, foreign countries would facilitate limiting travel from India, and confirmed that he took problems with partners, including in the bay.
MEA spokesman Arindam Bagchi said the government actively tried to help Indians who needed to travel back to various countries around the world.
“As we said before, we hope that with a covid situation far away in India, countries will relieve restrictions for travel from India.
We have taken this problem with foreign partners wherever possible,” Bagchi said when asked about the problem Faced by Indians on the way to other countries, especially the Gulf Nation.
He also said the Minister of External Affairs S Jaishankar and Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan recently held a meeting with the Indian Ambassador in the Gulf countries.
“Our ambassadors were asked to take up with their host countries the problem of returning flights with India,” he said, referring to the meeting.
The Minister of External Affairs also raised this problem during a bilateral meeting of margins from the G-20 minister meeting held in Italy, Bagchi told the online media briefing.
Harsh’s foreign secretary Vardhan Shringla has also risen with his colleagues about the problem of normalization of travel and mobility of students, professionals and allows family reunions, he said.
“So, in a summary, we are actively trying to help Indians who need to travel back to various countries around the world,” MEA spokesman said.
On questions about the extradition of Mehul Choksi and Nirav Modi from Dominica and England respectively, Bagchi said he did not have an update to share on the ongoing legal process in cases and added that the ministry would continue to keep up with developments in this matter.
Asked about the Cairn Energy PLC which secured the French trial order to seize around 20 Indian government properties in Indonesia Pari to recover a portion of the USD 1.72 billion due from New Delhi after the Arbitration panel canceled retrospective tax retribution, Bagchi told the media to refer to Ministry of Finance statement on it.
The Ministry of Finance has received orders from any Treasure of France and will take appropriate legal drugs after getting orders.
