Covid snatches parents of 23 Children in Punjab

CHANDIGARH: As many as 23 children are orphaned in Punjab after dropping both their parents throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to the state government information gathered till Wednesday, the parent/parents of the children died because of Covid involving March 31, 2020, and May 31, 2021.
There were several who dropped their living parent into the virus.
Raji P Srivastava, chief secretary of social safety and child development division, said that the state government is assuring that the advantage of all continuing strategies is prolonged to orphaned children with no difficulty.
Being the nodal department for the care of children, it’s issued a series of directions for all concerned departments of the state administration on May 25.
“In most instances of children orphaned by Covid, the correct procedure has been followed, societal evaluation is being conducted, as the kid and his relatives are screened as well as their views have been determined,” she added.
The senior IAS officer added added that originally most such children are taken in with their near relatives and people that aren’t accepted by their own relatives or people who don’t have relatives, will be taken under country administration’s children’s houses.
Siblings will remain in exactly the identical child care establishment.
Such orphaned children would likewise be produced prior to the child welfare committee of the appropriate district.
Child growth project officials (CDPOs) of every block are designated as specific mentors for every such child and they’ll behave as counsellor-cum-motivator for your kid until they develop.
The state government has included a monitoring committee under the chairmanship of both Aruna Chaudhary, cabinet ministry of their social safety and women and child development, that will meet once per month and then examine in detail the aid measures being put in position for each and every case.
The section will keep the list of all affected kids and apprise them into writing of their welfare measures being given to them.
The SC has taken suo motu notice from the event and is tracking the steps being taken by several countries and UTs to expand benefits to the orphaned kids.
There are seven instances in Bathinda district at which the kid has lost 1 or both parents into Covid-19.
The district government is still operating to send these kids to the child care home since there’s not any one left to care for those.
The district government is supplying food to families.
In Barnalatwo sisters lost their parents to the virus.
Now, the women, aged 17 and 12, have been cared for by their husband.
Barnala district kid safety officer Abhishek Singla stated that benefits admissible in this scenario is going to be given to the kids and a case has been ready for help.
