Covid spike in ahmednagar, but fewer critical patients

Nashik: The surge in Covid cases in the Ahmednagar district though, the number of critical patients is still low, said the district collector Rajendra Bhosale.
At present, this district has 5,687 active Covid patients – all in institutional quarantine compulsory.
From them, only 3.6% in the ICU and around 7.5% in medical oxygen support (however, not in an icus).
The level of participants and district mortality rates respectively is 5.5% and 2.06% respectively.
Administration is doing around 15,000 daily Covid tests.
Bhosale told TI the government continuously with its policy – began during the second wave of pandemic – institutional quarantine mandatory even covid patients without symptoms and or few symptoms.
“The spread of infection is currently caused by density of social events such as marriage, funerals, etc.
Even some restaurants allow more visitors than the specified amount.
We have started to break the whip on such offenders,” Bhosale said.
“Recently, we registered a case, for density, against the bride, groom, their parents and the owner of a wedding at Shevgaon Taluka.
The place was also sealed,” he added.
Five Talukas from Sangamner, Parner, Pathardi, Shevgoan and Shrigonda are hotspots in this district.
A most positive case in the district was reported from Talukas.
Dr.
Prakash Lalge, Taluka Health Officer, said more than 80% of patients in Taluka were those who had not been vaccinated.
“Patients who have contracted infection despite asymptomatic or slightly symptomatic vaccination,” he said.
So far, more than 11.4 Lakh beneficiaries, including health workers and frontline workers, have been vaccinated in Ahmednagar.
“Most of the beneficiaries have not been vaccinated in the district and administrative priority is to vaccinate as many beneficiaries before the third wave of hits,” added the district collector.
Meanwhile, some neighboring Ahmednagar districts such as Nashik and Beed are a warning after the increase in the number of cases in Ahmednagar.
Beed Zilla Parishad CEO Ajit Kumbhar said Asthi, Patoda and Shirur Talukas shared the border with Ahmednagar.
“We have decided that from the beginning of next week, the health authority from Talukas will test the people who come from Ahmednagar for Covid.
This is very important because cases rise in Ahmednagar and there are movements of people between the two districts,” said Kumbhar.
Nashik District Surgeon civilian Dr.
Ashok Thorat also said the district health authority was very monitored the Covid situation in Sinnar Taluka from the district which borders Ahmednagar.
“We are very vigilant because there is a constant movement between Nashik and Ahmednagar every day,” said Thorat.
