Pune: There is a big decline in the growth rate of active Covid cases in the state, which officials said are the third wave ambition sign.
Active cases have jumped 234% until the week ended January 10, but has grown only 10% and 13% in the past two weeks, data from the Ministry of Health shows.
The member of the State Duty Dr.
Shashank Joshi said the decline in active cases could be mainly due to the exception of asymptomatic people from the test protocol (after January 10).
But Dr.
Pradeep kicked, the state disease supervision officer, said the third wave did lose the intensity, a proven slowdown in the case of active cases had not surged in a way that was seen in early January.
Dr.
Joshi said, “We have stopped testing asymptomatics and contact Covid cases, unless they have been identified as risky.
We only do symptom-based syndrome testing, when almost 85% infected can be without symptoms as long as Omicron.
Most of these segments can now Reduced in testing for Covid, which might reflect as a slowdown in active Covid cases throughout Maharashtra.
“However, he said several cities such as Mumbai and Thane did see a decline in new cases.
Dr.
Shate said, “Cases of reduction because several districts seemed to pass its peak.
The level of country’s position is 22-23%, compared to the previous 35% – a significant decrease.” Dr.
Rahul Pandit, a member of the State Task Force, said, “Declining The growth rate of the active case is a combination of both, not only changes in the ICMR testing strategy (not asymptomatics testing) but a decrease in disease burden as well.
The new Covid case cannot stay hidden because people will seek medical assistance.
In early January, OPD from general practitioners and units Emergency in hospitals are flooded by patients, which have diminished now.
“A senior health department official even said in testing data from the last 10 days, 85% positive appeared as well as asymptomatic.
“So this percentage remains similar among those tested, regardless of changes in testing guidelines.
The level of growth in active cases might thus slow down due to a decrease in the epidemic curve.
The third wave is expected to decrease more than 15 days,” said the official.
Dr.
Sanjay Deshmukh, Assistant Director, Health Services, Pune Region, said, “Cases in Pune were tapered, which had slowed the level in which active cases increased in early January.
We will wait for a week to arrive at a clearer picture for Pune Of course.
