Covid: Tamil Nadu Log 28,515 New Infection, 53 Death

Chennai: After a month, the active case on Thursday fell to 2,13,534 from 2,13692 on Wednesday, when the state added 28,515 new cases.
However, despite the decline in fresh and active cases, death continued to rise to 53 on Thursday.
With 13 deaths in Chennai and seven of Coimbatore, the cumulative victim touched 37,412.
“The increase in deaths occurred for some time after the fresh and active case fell.
We saw in two consecutive waves in 2020 and 2021,” said Health Secretary J Radhakrishnan.
“Complications and deaths occur at least a week after someone is tested positive,” he said.
Of the 53 deaths, at least 52 people have comorbidities and 42 of them are above 60 years.
The youngest died was a 27-year-old woman from Tiruvannamalai, who had several health complications.
The death audit of victims of Covid shows that almost seven of the 10 people who died have not taken a vaccine, said the Director of Medical Education Dr.
R Narayaabu.
“Only 5% of the active cases needed acceptance.
Our studies show that among vaccination and death, the risk is higher among people who are not vaccinated,” he said.
