Pune: Covid detection tests at Maharashtra fell to 5.58 lakh during the celebration of Dwali on November 3-9 Sunday from an average of more than 10-11 lakh for a period of seven days in September and October.
The recent number of weekly tests in the state is the lowest in the past two months.
Public health officials connect a drop to celebrations and decreases that are consistent in the Covid case.
The Maharashtra task force has now directed the government to increase testing, especially in districts with weekly wingings higher than the country average (1.3%).
The Public Ministry of Health enrolled 3.23,150 RT-PCR and 2.35,813 quick antigen tests between November 3 and 9 with 17 districts that performed less than 5,000 tests during the period.
The highest weekly test was registered from Mumbai (2.05 lakh), followed by Thane (85,033), Pune (63,044) and Raigad (26,455).
The lowest weekly test is registered in Bhandara (370).
“Ten districts continue to register weekly hippositis higher than the average state and testing must be increased there.
We cannot complacent in testing,” said the DR Shashank Joshi Task Force.
The Minister of Health of Rajesh Tope has told TII that November will be “an important month”, because of crowding during the recent celebration.
With the state having the capacity to test 2-2.5 lakh, the district has been told not to reduce testing.
Tope said the test had dropped due to low daily detection and fewer contacts to track.
“We have told the district to oversee the situation, especially after the celebration season,” he said.
From October 31, daily testing has registered a decline from 1.03 lakh daily to 60,055 to 8 November.
Members of the Task of State Duty Dr.
Rahul Pandit said the next two weeks were very important.
He said, “Although most of the districts in the country register low cases than in the past, testing cannot be reduced.
It is very important to detect the earliest cases.”
