Nashik: The steady decrease in active Covid cases in Nashik’s countryside has caused a decrease in the number of detention zones in 15 talucas from the Nashik district.
The number of detention zones, which is around 660 on August 5 in all districts, has now dropped to 330 so far, said the district health.
“The decline in the number of zones is caused by a decrease in the number of active Covid cases.
Like opposing several cases – more than four at once in the detention zone – the number is now on the lower side – about one or two cases in each zone,” said Health Officer from Nashik Zilla Parishad.
Nashik Taluka has registered the highest drop of micro and macro detention zones between all talucas.
The number of detention zones in Taluka has dropped from 101 on August 5 to 10 so far.
The number of affected citizens because the detention zone also dropped from more than 47,000 to 4,172.
Malegaon Taluka also reported a decrease in the number of detention zones from 221 to 75.
The number of detention zones has declined to 78 of 121 in Niphad.
“There was a total decline in the number of detention zones in the district, but the situation was not too encouraging in Sinnar Taluka,” the official said.
The number of detention zones in Sinnar Taluka have dropped from 49 to 45.
Officials said intense testing was carried out in the detention zone and contacts have resulted in a decrease in active Covid cases.
Rural areas have 483 active cases.
The total number of Covid cases stands at 1.54 lakh, which, 1.49 lakh has recovered.
