Kolkata: In the midst of a steep increase in the Covid-19 case in the state, the West Bengal government has decided to restore Covid-related limitations, cover all educational institutions from Monday and allow the office to operate with 50 percent of the workforce.
At a press conference on Sunday, the Head of Secretary HK Dwivedi announced that only important services would be permitted between 10 PM and 5 in the state.
All shopping centers and markets will be allowed to keep open until 10 pm but with half their capacity.
The local train will be allowed to operate with a capacity of 50 percent to 7:00 long distance trains will operate according to the usual schedule.
The Metro train in Kolkata will also operate according to the usual time but with a capacity of 50 percent.
All tourist attractions, including zoos, will remain closed.
In addition, swimming pools, parlor, spa, health center and fitness center are also asked to be closed, he added.
Flight tickets from Mumbai and New Delhi will ply only twice a week, and there are no flights from the UK to be allowed for now, said Dwivedi.
Balai and theaters have been allowed to operate with a capacity of 50 percent.
Meetings and conferences have been permitted with a maximum of 200 people at a time or 50 percent of the capacity of the hall, which is lower.
Bars and restaurants are permitted to stay open with a capacity of 50 percent until 10pm, while shipping home food and other essential products are permitted according to ordinary operating hours.
No more than 50 people are allowed at marriage, and only 20 people will be permitted during funeral and burial services, the head secretary said.
The state government requests the management of industry, factory, factory, tea garden, and other commercial companies to ensure strict compliance with guidelines.
West Bengal on Saturday reported 4,512 fresh Covid-19 cases, 1.061 more than the previous day, with Kolkata accounted for 2,398 new cases, in accordance with the state health department.
