Covid throws a shadow at Kanwar Yatra in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Shiv temples in all countries wore a quiet view on the first Monday of the Holy Month of Shravan because the state government had placed restrictions on Kanwar Yatra in the middle of a pandemic.
This is the second year in a row that Yatra has been suspended because Covid.

“The ritual of the gods is being carried out as usual but without worshipers,” said Gorabadu, a priest at the Lingaraj temple.

Restrictions also affect the livelihood of hundreds of small vendors and shop owners who sell prasad and worship services near the temple.
Other major temples from the country that attracted worshipers during this period were Loknath temples in Puri, Dhabaleswar in Cuttack, Kapilas in Dhenkanal, AkhandaNii in Bhadrak, Ladoo Baba in Sharanakula in Nayagarh.
In small temples, people look Diyas land lighting outside the temple.
