Ahmedabad: About two months ago, residents marched outside the covid vaccination center in Gujarat.
However, now, the State Health Department plans to go from door to door in several state pockets to ensure 100% vaccination.
As India, on Thursday, crossing a 100 crore vaccine milestone, Gujarat also crossed the number 6.8 crores, including 4.4 first crore and 2.4 crore both vaccines.
State Health Minister Rushikesh Patel said on Thursday that three cities and four districts have recorded 100% vaccination, while sustainable campaigns identify those who meet the requirements but still have not taken Jab.
“Overall 90% of the qualified population have received the first dose,” he said.
“With 6.86 lakh people from every 10 lakh get a dose, Gujarat leads among major countries.” The health department official said that they had launched three major initiatives to enforce 100% vaccination compliance.
This includes routine monitoring of government offices, monitoring private commercial entities with 100 staff or more, and records patient vaccination status in the government managed health facilities.
“The doctor will be sensitive to those who have not received a vaccine and removes myth if there is,” said a senior health department official.
On the other hand, cities like Ahmedabad have launched incentives to increase percentages.
Dr.
Bhavin Solanki, the AMC Health Officer, said that AMC had vaccinated workers and homeless people at night hours and even vaccinated those who did not have evidence of identity.
Other cities and districts have also provided vaccinations by providing free or impressive items such as allowing access to government-managed facilities only to those who provide a vaccination certificate.
The source said that finishing the remaining 10% is a challenge.
“The reluctance of people to vaccinate is the main barrier,” said a senior official.
