Colombo / New Delhi: The second international T20 between India and Sri Lanka here on Tuesday was postponed the day after visiting the All-Rounder Krunal Pandya tested positive for Covid-19, forcing him out of the series with seven-day isolated.
In accordance with Sri Lankan Health Safety Protocol, Kronal will not be able to travel back to India with other members of the contingent on July 30 because he must now undergo mandatory isolation and get a negative RT-PCR report.
The third and last T20 is scheduled to be held on Thursday.
For now the three-match series is on even if there are several cases, the Indian team has enough players with a negative RT-PCR report for the team field.
Krunal, which was positively tested on Tuesday morning, had been quarantined and the entire Test Report RT-PCR contingent was awaited.
“The second T20 of Sri Lanka and India was originally scheduled to be played on July 27, it has been pushed forward one day and will now take place on Wednesday, July 28,” the BCCI secretary said in a media statement.
“Take a quick antigen test in front of the match on Tuesday morning, Krunal Pandya was found positive.
The medical team has identified eight members as close contact,” he added release.
However, it has been studied from the source of BCCI that all members of the Indian contingent are currently in room insulation until they receive a negative RT-PCR report.
All contingents have undergone a RT-PCR test that day to ensure further outbreaks in the squad.
“If everyone is in clear, we can have a match on Wednesday.
