Covid was found in 2-4% of people who were vaccinated in Kolhapur

Kolhapur: ‘Kolhapur Paradox’ Covid infection has just been increasingly curious.
As much as 2% to 4% of people who were fully vaccinated in Kolhapur were among those detected with Covid, while such an infection was only 0.07% to 0.13% at the national level in May.
Kolhapur Regency has reported a 10% covid front level since June, while the remaining Maharashtra has seen a significant decline in infection.
The high positivity in Kolhapur Regency, despite reporting the largest coverage of at least one covid dose in the state, has been dubbed the ‘paradox of kolhapur’.
Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope on Friday said about 2% to 4% of beneficiaries from Kolhapur Regency, who had received a vaccine dose, found infected with Covid.
At present, around 70% of the 45+-age population in the district has received the first dose.
The second dose has been given to 10% of the district population.
“I have asked for administration to conduct microscopic studies of cases detected by collecting data such as age, gender, how many days since the second dose etc.
I also ask them to collect samples from such patients and send them to genomical sequencing.
So we can confirm Covid virus variant which causes infection between the fully vaccinated, “Tope said.
Covid cases like that among people who were vaccinated after 14 days received the second dose called the breakthrough infection.
Central data from May showed that 23,940 people were infected with Covid-19 after taking Covaxin Bharat Biotech in India, namely 0.13% of the total dosage of the vaccine delivered.
Of these, 18.427 was infected after the first dose and 5.513 after the second.
Tope, who visited Kolhapur on Friday, said the weekly ponytites had dropped to 9.6% in the district and expected the situation under control in July-end.
He said more to reduce mortality in Kolhapur, which is also the highest in the state.
Weekly mortality rates have dropped from 3.8% to 1.3% in the past two weeks.
“Of course, there is Lacunae in care.
The expert team that comes on Thursday has suggested various tests for effective care.
Some complain that it takes three to four days for the results of the test until it is delaying further treatment,” he said.
Tope said at this time, the RTPCR test was being carried out in the laboratory in Kolhapur and Mumbai.
“I have asked the health secretary to allow swabs to be sent from Kolhapur to NIV and Sassoon Hospital in Pune,” he added.
