Pune: Weekly death because Covid-19 infection fell to six-month low 51 during the September 9-15 period, data from the district health department has shown.
This decline, in turn, helped reduce the death rate of the Covid Weekly case (CFR) to 0.9% in Pune, which was one of the lowest since April.
Weekly CFR in this district is largely aged between 1-2% during the second wave, which began in early March this year.
Dr.
Kapil Zirpe, a member of the Pune Covid-19 task force and the head of the Neurotrauma unit from the Ruby Hall Clinic, told TII, “Overall, the number of Covid cases over the past few weeks has become the lowest compared to previous weekly cases since March.
Also , a gradual increase in partially and full individuals vaccinated in Pune District can ensure that newly infected patients have a lighter disease.
So, not only the number of cases is low, but what is vaccinated against Covid also gradually increases in number.
“He said Vaccination plays a major role in reducing the severity of the disease, with a piece of population taking both doses.
“There is no delay in getting a ticket into the hospital or providing treatment to Covid patients today, because fewer cases have ensured more health facilities are available for the treatment of such cases,” he said.
Data from the Ministry of Health showed that the district recorded a weekly Covid mortality in two digits from March to June this year, which was reduced to two digits since July.
However, the number of weekly deaths since then floated between 70-plus and 80-plus, except for the past two weeks.
A total of 68 deaths were recorded during the period 2-8 September, followed by 51 in the last week.
Citing one of the factors that fell headache, Senior Epidemiology Amitav Banerjee, “with the SARS-COV-2 variant, Delta in the second wave case, the impact began to reduce as a wave of subside, causing a decrease in transmission and mortality.”
