New Delhi: The city on Wednesday reported 13,785 fresh Covid-19 cases and 35 deaths were more related to viruses.
The level of participation rose to 23.86% from 22.47% a day ago.
While Delhi has recorded 11,684 cases and 38 deaths on Tuesday, has reported 12,527 cases and 24 deaths on Monday, when the level of participation reaches 27.99%.
According to state government data, 57,776 tests were carried out on Tuesday, up from 52.002 on Monday.
“Cases have been stable.
The next few days are important to understand the direction in which the third wave of the pandemic moves,” said Dr.
Arun Gupta, Delhi’s medical council president.
He added that the level of prospitis was still high but, on the positive side, there was no rush for hospitalization as seen during the second wave.
Delhi reported 28.867 cases last Thursday, the sharpest surge in the sharpest since the plague of pandemic.
The previous daily calculation of 28,395 cases was recorded on April 20 last year.
A total of 2,734 Covid patients were hospitalized, including 908 on oxygen support, including 147 in ventilator support.
Kaseload has gone up to 17,47,966 while the toll has reached 25,460.
So far this month, 353 Covid deaths have been recorded in the city.
Six months earlier January saw 130 deaths – nine in December, seven in November, four in October, five in September, 29 in July.
Dr.
Suresh Kumar, Medical Director of Lok Nayak Hospital, said the majority of Covid deaths reported in the past month were people with comorbidity or serious medical conditions that were also infected with a virus.
“This infection does not cause symptoms and severe death, as witnessed during the second wave.
Most people recover themselves in the isolation of their homes,” he said.
Dr.
Kumar added that almost 80% of Covid beds at Lok Hospital Nayak lay empty.
