Letter: The body of three members of the tribal family was found depending on the tree in the village of Molamba near Vansda from the Navsari district on Tuesday.
Police suspect that parents also hang themselves after seeing their son’s body hanging.
Yogesh Ghatal (31) was very disturbed after recovering from Covid-19 and he tried to commit suicide three times since April.
He was saved at the last moment by family members in the past, police said.
However, the ghatal body was found depending on the branch of the tree while his parents’ bodies (58) and Manchi (56) were found in other trees nearby.
The bodies were first seen by Ghatal’s sister Rasilawhen he reached their home because no one did not answer the call.
Rasila married in Molaamba and lived in the same village.
He used to call his parents and brothers every day to ask for their health.
On Tuesday, when he got home, the door was open but there was no one nearby.
Then, when looking for him to see the bodies on the tree.
The case of unintentional death was registered at the Vansda police station after the police recovered the body and sent it to postmortem.
“The initial investigation shows that suicide.
We are waiting for postmortem reports to get more details,” said an officer at the Vansda police station.
Ghatal married and had a three-year-old daughter.
His wife went to his parents’ house to celebrate Raksha Bandhan with his daughter and not at home when the incident happened.
“Ghatal was disturbed since April after he signed Covid-19.
He recovered after a mild fever but he had lived a tense life since then.
He has tried to commit suicide by hanging three times but his parents kept watching him and he was saved,” police said .
He went to the nearest or on the hill to end his life but his parents looked for him and took him back.
“His parents also committed suicide because of suicide of the son.
They must feel that they could not save him and it caused extreme steps,” police said.
The family farmed on their own land and also went to work on the farm.
