New Delhi: Another prominent market in the city faces actions to violate Covid norms after the district government decided to close the part of the main conscious BAZAR market – Bara Touli Chowk to Qutub Road – from 10 nights on July 10 to 17:00.
However, the trader’s association was not happy with the decision, by saying that regardless of recurring demand, administration did not mention the meeting with all the departments concerned and market associations to understand the reasons behind violations and find concrete solutions.
“We talked to HR in Saunday and said that except a joint meeting called, it would be difficult to find a native solution,” said Rakesh Yadav, President of the Federation of Bazar traders aware.
“Turning off shops causes a big loss for general traders who are not responsible for managing the crowd on the road.” Orders by HR Kotwali stated that the market was closed because of the heavy legs and lack of social distance in the area.
“It is necessary to take immediate and strict action to reduce the spread of the virus and not to develop any public places as a super spreader.
The market from Bar Touli Chowk to Qutub Road with this is limited to open until July 13,” said the order.
Traders conscious Bazaar claimed that they had formed a team of 21 members to check that Covid norms were carefully obeyed by shop owners.
“They communicate with shop owners individually or through a public address system,” said Rajendra Sharma, Secretary General of the Federation.
Previously, Gaffar Market, Laxmi Nagar, 12 shops in Gandhi Nagar, Nangloi, Rui Market and Pasar Lajpat Nagar faced closure for violations of Covid.
