New Delhi: With the aim of facilitating the reopening of faster economic activities while also ensuring the safety of public health, Co-Win has launched a new API that will make it easier for organizations to find out or verify the vaccination status of their employees, colleagues, customers etc.
To use this API, individuals need to enter cellphone numbers and names.
After that, individuals will get a one-time password (OTP) that they must enter.
In return, Co-Win will send a response to the entity verifying in individual vaccination status.
The response will only notify whether the person is not vaccinated or people are vaccinated or people are fully vaccinated.
This new feature is based on privacy approval and preservatives, the government said.
Co-Win has issued a certificate that can be digitally verified as proof of vaccination.
This certificate can be stored on digital devices such as smartphones, tablets, laptops etc.
Or stored in DIGI changed from where it can be shared digitally as and if needed as proof of vaccination.
However, there may be examples where an entity does not need to see the certificate in full and only need to know whether someone has been vaccinated or not.
For example, employers may want to know the status of vaccination of its employees to continue functions in the office, workplace etc.
Similarly, hotels may want to know the status of their customers’ vaccination.
“Therefore, there is a need to activate Aadhaar such as authentication services for vaccination status through co-win.
To take care of these cases and others that might arise, Co-Win has developed a new API called ‘know the customer / client vaccination status You ‘or KYC-vs, “said the government.
API can also be used for train reservations and flight bookings.
“Because socio-economic activities are gradually revived while maintaining everyone’s safety, there is a need for ways to convey individual vaccination status to entities with whom they might be involved with all reasons, as employees, as employees, passengers, residents etc.
Government said.
Nearly 73 doses of crore vaccines have been given so far.
This response through KYC-vs will be signed digitally and can be shared instantly with the verification entity.
