Two new categories for teachers and non-teaching staff have been introduced in the Cowin portal centered in hopes of accelerating complete immunization for this important segment with many countries that compile plans to reopen schools.
This center has allocated more than two extra covid-19 crore vaccines to America to vaccinate two categories on the day’s priority on the day of run-up on Teacher’s Day at 5.
NK Arora, Chairman of the National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization, to TOI: “The state must accelerate Full vaccination among teachers and non-teaching staff.
Most will receive the first dose.
The goal now is to accelerate their full immunization.
“There were nearly 97 lakh teachers in this country.
Earlier this month, Niti Aayog member V K Paul said nearly 50% was vaccinated.
“It is very important for teachers and school support or non-teaching staff to be fully vaccinated as part of preparation to reopen the school,” Arora said.
Minister of Education Union Dharmendra Pradhan has indicated that the inoculation of the two groups will be needed to restore school education which is disturbed by a pandemic in March 2020.
The school has been closed for almost 18 months, increasing concerns about children’s cognitive and physical growth.
“I asked all state governments to provide their support and cooperation to this campaign to strengthen the future foundation,” Pradhan said in a recent tweet.
Experts say the state and UTS can use the integrated educational district information system and coordinate with their education department, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sanghtan, Navodaya Vidyalaya Sanghtan to utilize the full immunization of teachers and non-teaching staff.
