Cowin users wrestle with certificate problems

Pune / Mumbai: Combining two first dose certificates of the Covid-19 vaccine turns out to be an impossible task for some beneficiaries, with Cowin who does not accept the request because of the difference between the name or error in other parameters in one of the two certificates, a central official With the Portal Management Team told Friday.
Many vaccine recipients get their first dose by registering from one cellphone number and the second dose after registering from another number.
Even though such users have now completed their vaccination schedule, they have received two first dose certificates when they register with two numbers.
To avoid this, the Ministry of Health and family welfare has introduced the option to combine two first dose certificates on Cowin to obtain a final vaccination certificate.
A 40-year-old doctor from Ghatkopar recently told Rajawadi’s hospital that the certificate showed the same date for its first and second dose.
“We can finish it,” said Dr.
Vidya Thakur, medical supervisor.
The head of another vaccination center said, “Many receive a single dose has received a final vaccination certificate in a temporary place.
It becomes difficult for them to get the second dose,” he said.
“I received two first dose certificates despite using the same telephone number for registration.
Somehow, the vaccination staff at the hospital updated the wrong recipient’s reference ID during the second dose.
So, my second certificate has a different beneficiary reference ID.
I tried to combine Two certificates on Cowin, but the request was rejected, “said Pune Doshtalmologist from Nerves.
Other Pune Residents cannot combine two certificates from the present day after using a different telephone number for both doses.
“When registering at Cowin, the second time with a different telephone number, I made a gender punching mistake.
Both certificates now show a different sex and my request was rejected.” A central official with the Cowin Portal Management Team said, “When an effort was made to combine Two certificates, details such as the recipient’s name, gender, age, ID reference is checked to see if they are suitable.
If they are not suitable, the request is unsuccessful.
“The official said almost 31 Lakh’s request on the ‘increase in problem’ Cowin has been completed, while 10,000-odd awaits.
“We see such problems and will relax some conditions so that such requests succeed,” he said.
