CP ordered the probe how the police in SL was issued a gun

Nagpur: City Police have begun investigated how the Connectable head attached to the Pramod Merguwar Special Protection Unit (SPU), who shot himself to death at his Niwara community’s residence in Zingabai Takli on Saturday, managed to get sick firearms.
Requests have been initiated following the commands of Amitesh Kumar City Police Chief.
Merguwar is sick since March this year.
After recovering from Covid-19, he has developed endless endogenous endophthalmitis mushrooms, which causes loss of vision in the right and partially on the left.
After undergoing five operations, including one in Hyderabad, Merguwar had received an indication of an ophthalmologist who took care of the Alexis Hospital on June 28 that he might need another operation because some spots developed in the left eye.
On the same day, Merguwar went to Armory at the police headquarters to get his service weapon.
He had told a friend to take him to a warehouse who said fine must be saved by him immediately.
The source in the police department said Merguwar had submitted a letter from SPU to release the weapon.
It is not clear how the Head Connectable issued a letter when he struggled to save his vision.
The police chief was taken to hospital by his niece because he had struggled to even make and receive calls by operating the cellphone.
In such situations, it was unclear how firearms were handed over to him.
CP Kumar said it was not easy for someone to realize that Merguwar was visually challenged just by looking at him.
“We investigated in what circumstances he took out firearms,” said CP.
The city police officer into the Custodian of SPU’s firearms only released it after official communication.
“We have called a note from SPU to see how the weapon was released and also examined relevant entries,” he said.
