Ranchi: In one of the biggest achievements in the war against Maois, Jharkhand police arrested the CPI (Maois) member of the Politburo Kisan Da alias Prashant Bose, who brought RS 1 Crore gift, on Friday from the district of Seraikela.
Bose, now in the mid-70s, has become the main Maois ideology and is a signatory to the Communist Merger Maoist India (MCCI), which operates in North India, and CPIML (People’s War), is active in South India, in September 2004, which leads to the formation of CPI (Maois).
After this merger that the ultra left movement grew stronger and more ferocious, creating a red corridor that flows from north to south through the center of the country.
DGP Niraj Sinha, however, said some people had been detained because of suspicion, but their identity was verified.
“We can confirm only when identity is established,” he said.
According to the source placed with high in the police, Bose together with his wife Sheela Marandi and the other two were intercepted together with their vehicle traveling and detained near Kandra in the District of Sarikella-Kharsawan.
The sources said the arrest was carried out at the checkpoint in the Kandra area while Bose and the group was reportedly returning from Bukit Parasnath in Scorpio vehicles.
District police along with intelligence bureau personnel are involved in operations.
It was lowned that the police interrogated Bose and his wife at Ranchi at this time.
Bose, who left with several aliases, was considered a second man in the current hierarchy of CPI (Maois) and led the East Regional Clothing Bureau.
His wife, Sheela Marandi, commonly known as Shella Didi, was recently elevated as a member of the central committee in the organization.
However, he did not carry any gifts when he was arrested and came out with a recent guarantee.
It can be stated that Bose is one of the four Maois Jharkhand carrying a gift of Rs 1 Crore.
The other is a member of the PBM Misir Best and the Central Committee (from the CPI-Maoist) ASIM Mandal and Anal DA.
Bose has been active in Jharkhand, Odisha, Bihar, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
He was said to be the key accused of around 100 acts of extremist violence in various countries.
Some other countries have also announced gifts to him.
The police have been looking for Bose for the past few decades.
He was reportedly present at Jhumra, Parasnath, Forest Saranda and Burha Pahah in a different period.
Even though the police conducted an operation, he managed to escape from the police net.
Bose is a native of Jadavpur at 24 West Bengal District.
He has been disabled after suffering a heart attack.
Police source confirmed that he did not fit well and physically unable.
“He is senior to Sudhakar, another member of the Maoist politbiro who surrendered in Telangana in 2019,” said one police officer, acknowledging that his arrest was a blow to the ideology and morals of the clothes that were prohibited.
Sources also said he went to prison for the last time in the late 1970s during an emergency and came out in 1978.
After that, he had been involved in the ultra-left movement.
