New Delhi: CPM has decided to drop the age ceiling for its central committee members to 75 years from 80 years, a step aimed at instilling fresh blood into the party.
This was decided at the Central Committee meeting, the highest decision-making agency from the party who chose Politbiro, which was held from August 6 to 8.

The exception was made for Ramachandran Pillai in 2018 to defend it in Politbiro.

The age ceiling formula will be applied in a two-level way.
First, retirement will be repaired at 75 years for members in all of his bodies, including Politburo.
