Bicholim: The left edge of the main canal of Tillari Dam Dam once again developed large cracks.
The violation occurred in Manseri, Dhangarwadi at Maharashtra’s Dodamarg Taluka at around 3:30 a.m.
on Sunday.
This resulted in running water to the nearest fields and plantations, encouraging the authorities to stop supply to cave.
Tillari Dam provides raw water to the Assonora treatment plant which then supplies it to Bardez Taluka and Bicholim parts.
Last year the canal was violated at Souni-Bhedshi Khanyale, a few kilometers away.
A few months ago, Tillari’s main channel, which flowed through manseri, Dodaamarg, Kelichetemk and Ambeli, had fainted at Mhavlankarwadi, which was adjacent to the current violation area.
Farmers, who have pineapple plantations, have brought this to the relevant engineer notice.
The dam provides raw water to Bardez Taluka and the parts of the Bicholimover in the last 30 years, Crores Rupee has spent repair, but such incidents of violations continue on the Maharashtra side.
CM Pramod Sawant has approved the project to put the pipe to carry water from Tillari to the Goa border to help avoid the incident.
Can be recalled that the water supply to Goa was cut off a few months ago during the rainy season because landslides in several places in the left and right canal Tillari Dam.
After the canal develops cracks, water pressure begins to cause the ground to fill up so that the collapse forces the authorities to immediately stop inventory.
Even after this, the water continued to flow from the canal until 10 am and stopped only at 11 am.
