Chennai: The lightweight tremor was felt in several villages near the compensation in the Vellore district on Saturday.
Vellore K Ramamooorthy District Revenue Officer visited the villages on Saturday after a warning that villagers had often felt mild vibrations since December 21.
“We visited the villages at the foot of the hill around 4pm on Saturday.
The villagers said they had felt a light tremor since December.

They said on Saturday they felt a light tremor at 9am and 13:00.
Nothing Large damage caused, but a dozen walls of houses built using mud have a gap.
There is no mine nearby and therefore caused by every explosion in the mine is ruled out, “said Ramamoorthy.
District officials have decided to buy equipment from Indian geological surveys to learn the cause of this tremor.
