Cricketers aspire to get help

Vadodara: They have played cricket on the grounds in their village and sometimes even practice under street lights.
But cricket that aspires from poor families in rural areas is ready to get help to achieve their dreams playing the game under the spotlight.
Baroda Cricket Association (BCA) has hand in hand with Aditya Birla Capital to maintain Cricketers from country rural areas.
“The company will fund the cost of young Cricketers who aspires and facilitate their training.
Rural areas have many talents that have not been tapped.
This initiative has been taken to provide opportunities for players from remote areas,” Shishir Hattangadi said, BCA CEO who came with this project proposal.
“The selected player will get the best of training and facilities other than professional training.
We will pick up players between the ages of 15 and 17 years.
This is his first initiative in the state,” Hattangadi told Toi.
BCA covers the district area in Patan, Mehsana, Navsari and Bilimora who fall under the country of Baroda Ester.
“BCA runs academies in Mehsana and Navsari and hiring staff and coaches.
But it used to be a lot.
So, we have decided to accredit to the private academy in these districts and choose their players for our tournament,” said Sheetal Mehta, BCA Vice -President.
“Aditya Birla Capital has made 50 lakh RS funds to BCA which will be used to maintain cricket men and women from poor families in rural areas.
Sometimes they cannot compete at the professional level due to the lack of the right facilities.
Will cover all their expenses , “added Mehta.
If the association is successful in this project, management will extend it next year too.
“The proposal has been sent to the BCA Apex Board for approval,” said Mehta.
