Kanpur: The crime branch at the end of Wednesday night raided three houses in the Babupurwa Bagkui area and arrested six widows.
The team recovered around Rs 1.24 lakh, six cellphones and slips containing numbers from the place.
The crime branch submitted a report under public gambling against the defendant at the Babupurwa police station four people including the father-child duo from a house found to bet on the WhatsApp mobile group and Rs 1,05 lakh and four cellphones recovered from them.
During the interrogation, four identified themselves as Munna Lal Sahu, his son Rajat Sahu, Rahul Sahu and a Himanshu.
Take the fourth, the team invaded two more houses.
The team arrested Ine Shivam Sonkar and Vipin Sharma from there.
Cash worth Rs 19,000 and four cellphones and some slip also recover from both.
The responsible station said that Bandar Degangkasan had made the WhatsApp group, through which they bet in a cricket match.
